Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
A Frequently Asked Questions page. This is one the most important pages most people skip, and frankly for a good reason. A lot of our colleagues simply answer a few basic questions and call it a day. Here on the FAQs page, we hope you find answers to wedding photo and video questions you have, as well as learn about things you never even thought of. Take a minute and browse through it. We add stuff related to wedding photography and videography so consider bookmarking it. This way you can come back to it as needed for when you interview vendors or simply need answers. And if you ever want to pick our brains about anything just reach out (info@njweddingstudio.com)
Internet is full of irrelevant articles and lists created by random “experts” with little to no practical experience in the actual wedding photography and videography industry. This FAQs page is created to help you filter through all that noise and quickly find answers directly from professionals that have been working in the wedding industry for years.

Wedding photos are delivered in 4-6 weeks, although the contract states up to 8 weeks. Just in case something unexpected happens. Engagement photos are ready in two weeks. -
Wedding videos are delivered 10-12 weeks after we receive the music selection from you. For the most part, we use live audio, but for some parts of the video, we need to use background music of your choice.
-
Booking is simply a matter of signing a contract. Everything is done electronically via email in a few clicks.
-
A retainer of $500 is due at contract signing. The remaining balance is due by the wedding day. The remaining balance can be split into multiple payments or paid in full. We are fine with whatever works best for you.
-
Next is the engagement session, if that is a part of your package.
If not, we will proceed with establishing the timeline. Here is how that works.
About a month before your wedding we will reach out to you with the form and a lot of tips that will help us establish the timeline. Then we will schedule consultations, go over everything, and create an event in Google Calendar so that everyone involved can have easy access to all details and contact information.
We also understand you might have questions way before the timeline consultations so if you feel like chatting with us at any time don’t be shy. We are always just an email or a phone call away.

SDE can be combined with any other editing option.

YouTube statistics tell us that excluding your mom and grandma, grabbing the attention of the viewer, and keeping them interested in someone else’s wedding video for more than a few minutes is a challenge. We are passionate about producing wedding videos that are easy to watch while still preserving true emotions and atmosphere. That is why we concentrate on the quality and dynamics of the content rather than filling a quota.
Wedding Video is about 25-40 minutes long and it is set to the combination of live audio and music of your choice. Wedding Video includes all important events of the day seamlessly edited in easy to watch dynamic way to best represent the atmosphere and emotions of the day.
The length of the wedding video depends on several factors such as hours of coverage, number and types of events, overall dynamics of the day, length of the toasts, and hours of dancing.
IMPORTANT: We will include the entire toast and all of the speakers no matter how long they speak. This won’t affect other parts of the video. For that reason, we say wedding videos are usually anywhere from 25 to 40 minutes long.
-
A Documentary or Journalistic wedding video is professionally edited capture of your entire wedding day. It features entire wedding ceremony, introductions, first dances, and toasts. As well as extended coverage of party and dancing. Video is set to the live audio from the wedding as well as music of your choice.

Maybe? Allow me to explain. The second photographer is highly recommended for weddings of 175 guests or more when you are getting ready at two different locations, and to concentrate on easy-to-miss candid moments of friends and family throughout the day. They can also provide valuable second angle during important moments such as ring exchange, first kiss, etc. In case your excited aunt and her iPad enter the frame.
Lead photographers have years of experience working as solo shooters and will happily cover weddings of up to 175 alone. Even the larger weddings of up to 225 guests are not a problem if we spend an entire day at one location and you understand that candid shots won’t be as plentiful.
-
Again, maybe. Allow me to explain!
The second videographer is highly recommended to enhance video production by allowing us to concentrate on artistic, candid, and close-up shots throughout the day and especially during important parts such as first look, ceremony, and first dances. Most importantly it gives us the flexibility to cover first look, ceremony, and reception with up to 4-5 camera angles and use a drone in an unobstructed manner while still maintaining ground coverage. Second videographers are recommended for all weddings when you are getting ready at different locations. Finally, the second videographer can provide an alternative angle in case an excited guest jumps in to get the first kiss shot.
Lead videographers have years of experience working with smaller and medium-size weddings of up to 175 guests solo. We use up to two camera angles for important moments such as first look, ceremony, and reception.
Large weddings of more than 175 guests can also be covered with a solo videographer as long as you understand that we will concentrate more on documenting important events rather than creative shots and easy-to-miss candid moments of family and friends.

Destination weddings and weddings that require overnight stay are evaluated on case to case basis.
-
Absolutely! The wedding would lose some of its charm without excited friends and family yelling in the background while jockeying to get a shot!
Your aunt can use her 12.9-inch iPad Pro wrapped in the book-style protective cover to take all the photos and videos she likes.
We just respectfully ask her and all of the other papparazos to give us a couple of feet of space and stand next to, or better yet behind us during important moments such as walking down the aisle, first kiss, first dances, etc.
-
Absolutely! This is something you should ask all photo and video studios you decide to interview.
If the answer is anything other than “sure, here are some of our recently completed projects” simply move on. Everyone can put together a few dozen shots for a portfolio. Producing creativity and consistency throughout the day is what counts.
-
No, we have years of experience working solo and our gear is set up in a way assistant is not needed.
With that said, every wedding presents unique challenges, and there is always an exception to the rule so in some situations assistant might be warranted.
-
The truth is no one knows. It all depends on hours of coverage, number of guests, types of events, photo session time, dynamics of the day, hours of dancing, and number of photographers.
On average we deliver anywhere from 65 to over 100 photos per hour.
If you have any questions regarding the number of photos just give us a call and we will give you an estimate based on the details you provide.
-
Sure, our Wedding Albums are custom designed and flush-mounted. They hold 70-80 photos on 15 spreads (30 pages). The number of spreads can be expanded if needed. Maybe, allow me to explain!
